‘Wenn ein Haus träumt, dann schläft es nicht’ (when a house dreams it doesn’t sleep) was an interactive light installation by Muda Mathis for the façade of the Theatre of Graz. The human activities inside the building were registered and transformed into a RGB light show.
RGB light modules, so called Magic Eyes, are placed at the walls and react on movements and sounds in the room with changes of light intensity and colour. That way they reflect the activities and motions of the visitors.
Due to the slowness of the human eye the display seems wider in motion. The main innovation is a special combination of acceleration sensors with a processing unit.
