Am 12. Januar 2012 findet Helga zum ersten Mal statt, ein von Steiner Sarnen organisiertes Fachtreffen für Szenografie und Kommunikation im Raum. In Kurzvorträgen berichten Architekten, Ausstellungsgestalter und Szenografen über ihre Erfahrungen im Ausstellungsbereich und tauschen sich mit den Kollegen aus. Um 18:00 Uhr wird Valentin Spiess Besonderheiten unserer agile Arbeitsmethode vorstellen und anhand seiner “Checkliste für bessere Projekte” die Diskussion über neue Wege der Zusammenarbeit anregen. The exhibition Universe of Particles was awarded with silver by ADAM in the category World of Brands. ADAM is an award for outstanding brand and fair shows awarded by FAMAB Verband Direkte Wirtschaftskommunikation e.V.
On 13 November 2011 the permanent exhibition ‘Understanding the World’ in the Historical Museum Basel is opened. The presentation covers an area of 1200 square meters in the basement of the Barfüsserkirche. Divided in the areas ‘Art Chamber’, ‘Medieval Tapestries’, ‘Archaeology in Basel’ and ‘Coin Cabinet’, the exhibition gives a profound insight into various facets of Basel’s history, provided by around 2000 objects from Roman times to the Baroque, and their stories. Their mediation is given by media installations, audio recordings and interactive stations. iart was – in cooperation with Atelier Gillman – responsible for the concept and planning of the exhibition media. iart has won the international competition for a large-scale project and is now commissioned with the development and production of all audiovisual and interactive media and software productions for ‘Arabian Journeys′ – an exhibition of the natural and cultural history of Saudi Arabia at King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture. Now everybody can gain playful access to basic perceptual phenomena around light and colour. The mobile Colour-light box by the Colour-light centre of the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste makes it possible. Spatial staging can be tested by using coloured light. Combinations of different colours, colour contrasts and colour shadows can be created, e.g. to design a stage set or exhibition space. The simple design with two dynamically controllable RGB LED light sources and a partition wall with an opening was developed in collaboration with iart.
