In the visitors’ centre SASSO SAN GOTTARDO, it will be possible to explore the Gotthard on exciting expeditions inside the mountain, from the summer of 2011 on. iart is responsible for creating the light and sound effects for the grottos.

In the base camp, historical, cultural and ecological information will be communicated to visitors in preparation for the tour. The area of the artillery fortifications, a cultural heritage site, will be reduced to something purely functional. The rooms and their objects will be left untouched. They will bear witness to history and the fortifications’ purpose, thus illustrating the themes covered. The entire fortifications with their individual rooms are surrounded by rock and, deep inside, reflect the scenery’s overwhelming nature. The staging will concentrate on the elements of light and sound, water and sound. iart is responsible for the conception and planning of the media that will be used.
