The Messel Pit – Opening of the new Visitor Information Centre

The Messel Pit – Germany’s first UNESCO world natural heritage site and of extraordinary importance for the scientific examination and evaluation of the prehistoric objects found there – opened on 26 august 2010. In the spectacular building created by the architects Landau + Kindelbacher, the design of which echoes the structures of the oil shale in the pit, the permanent exhibition designed for the new information centre by Holzer Kobler Architekturen Zurich provides visitors with fascinating insights into bygone eras. iart interactive is responsible for the conception and planning of the numerous media installations and for the architectural and showcase lighting in the public areas of the new visitor information centre. Expo 2010 – Kickoff of the sales of the red solar cells in the Swiss Pavilion’s Façade

Doris Leuthard, President of the Swiss Confederation and head of the Federal Department of Economic Affairs paid a visit to Shanghai Expo on August 12 to celebrate the Swiss National Pavilion Day as well as the 60 year anniversary of bilateral relations between Switzerland and China. One of the highlights of the festivities was the kickoff of the sales of the red solar cells in the Swiss Pavilion’s Façade. The cells were planned and designed by iart interactive ag together with Buchner Bründler architects and will be delivered to the buyers after the Shanghai Expo.

Flashing Façade of the Swiss Pavilion at World Expo 2010 wins ‘red dot’

There is more reason to celebrate! After having won the iF communication design award 2010 with two of our façades, we now also won a red dot design award 2010 for the Flashing Façade of the Swiss Pavilion at World Expo 2010 in Shanghai. The award ceremony will take place on 8 December 2010 in the reddot design museum in Essen/Germany.

Temporary Exhibition ‘Rumour’ from october 2010 forward in Berlin

The temporary exhibition ‘rumour’ at the Museum of Communication in Bern ended on July 4. iart contributed two particular installations to the exhibition: One Pepper’s Ghost installation with a miniature rumour agent, who talks directly to the visitors, starts a chat and tries to worm a rumour out of them, and a whispering forest with 74 thematically connected rumours which are heard whispered out of the forest. With almost 30,000 visitors and a good response of media, the project was a big success. It will be on display at Museum for Communication in Berlin from october 2010 forward and later at Museum für Communication in Frankfurt.

Opening of ‘Universe of Particles’ CERN on 1 July 2010

Since 1 July visitors are offered a look into the scientific work of CERN (the European Council for Nuclear Research) and its particle accelerator LHC (Large Hadron Collider) in Geneva. In order to communicate its complex themes, which are often difficult to grasp, CERN has initiated a multimedia exhibition for its ‘Globe of Science and Innovation’: the dark, seemingly boundless ‘Universe of Particles’ with its shining blue spheres, which prove on closer examination to be show cases, interactive stations or audio chairs. The miniature universe has been realised by the scenographers ATELIER BRÜCKNER together with iart interactive and tegoro solutions. (more…)

Twofold winner of the iF communication design award 2010

There is a reason to celebrate! With two of our façades, we are the winner of the iF communication design award 2010 in the category “corporate architecture”: the one of the Stücki Shopping Mall and the façade of the Swiss Pavilion of the Expo 2010 in Shanghai. The award ceremony will take place on 3 September 2010 in the BMW World in Munich. On that occasion, also the iF gold awards will be announced. (more…)
